Granny Sheath
There should be a law against this sort of thing...
Where are the Fashion Police when you really need them?

Dangly Bits
...Wait. What did you think I meant by "dangly bits"?
Ugh! Get your mind out of the gutter, won't you?
Anyway, I was referring to the dangly bits on the bottom edge of this knitted skirt:
So, what do you think?
Combination skirt/cat toy, perhaps?
Or you can take it off, wind it around your hand with the dangly bits loose, and let it double as a duster?
Ooh! I know! They're reusable knitted handkerchiefs. You just reach down and pull one off as you need them.

All Tied Up
Beyond the obvious kookiness of this outfit (the skirt in particular, obviously), my favorite thing about this layout is the way it shows just about every possible way you can wear it:
With "ribbons" in place, tied.
With "ribbons" in place, not tied.
With "ribbons" out, wrapped around your waist like a belt.
With "ribbons" nowhere in sight. (Where ARE they? I must know!)
But who in her right mind would ever wear that thing with the "ribbons" out?
Oops, no, I meant to type, "Who in her right mind would ever wear that thing?"-- period.

What the Frou-Frou Nightmare?!
Today's Yarn Yuck is a curious case...
On the one hand, I can't imagine anything more little-lady, lacy frou-frou. I mean, oh my gosh! The doily-esque fabric! The pompoms! The spiral dangles! The mesh leg-warmers (with more pompoms)!
On the other... short skirts and see-through tops, anyone? (Heck, in the version on the left, you can see through skirt, too.)
As usual, I can't help but wonder if anyone actually wears this stuff. And is so, where are they wearing it?

Unconvincing
I like granny squares as much as the next person. They're a fun, versatile way to use up yarn remnants-- and they have a definite vintage/retro appeal.
However, I remain unconvinced that they're the best choice for a dress / skirt and wrap / whatever this thing is...
No matter how skillfully it's draped, it looks a little too much like you're wrapped up in an afghan.

When Designers Snap...
Horror can result when members of certain professions suddenly lose their footing in reality. You wouldn't want to be in an airplane, for instance, when the pilot goes berserk. An armed policeman who suddenly loses his marbles? Again, not a good thing.
While the stakes may not be quite as high in the stressful field of fashion design, the yarny carnage can still be stomach-turning:
Can you guess my favorite part of this design?
No, not the row of ribbon bows up the front...
No, not the meshy fabric of the skirt, either...
The sparkly yarn "necklace"? Nah, that's almost normal by comparison with the rest of this ensemble.
It's not even the poofy silver sleeves (though they come in a close second).
My very favorite parts are those slits over the front (and back) of the thighs. Classy.

The Itchy & Scratchy Wrap
I don't know...
That coverup looks like it was made out of those plastic faux-burlapesque bags that oranges are sold in at the supermarket. ...Looks like it'd be scratchy...

Scroungy, Mangy Poncho-Dress
Today, a feast of fringe, both loopy and clipped!
It's perfect for those days when nothing will suit you but to look like you're draped in a scroungy, mangy wolf pelt!
Also: What is that thing? It looks like a poncho... but then it continues down past her hands. Is that a skirt beneath the poncho? Or is it dress? Is... is she even wearing anything (up top) under that poncho?? ...I don't want to imagine what that poncho-thing would feel like on bare skin... ~shudder~
